Italy. Unfiltered, low acidity of .13 %.

Excelsum Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from the hills of the Italian
region of Umbria, the wonderful land between Florence and Rome. Umbria’s
nickname is "The green heart of Italy." Heart because it’s
right in the center of Italy and green because its landscape is green all
year long. This small peaceful hilly region is famous for being the
birthplace of many saints, like Saint Francis, Saint Benidict, Saint Rita,
Saint Clare and many others.
It is the cradle of many
worldwide famous artists, that left magnificent art treasures that can be
found in the small towns, where everything seems to have remained like it
was since medieval times. |

 |
For more than 2000
years in this wonderful hilly landscape, where every peak has a castle on
top or a peaceful town with tiny country church, the people still produce
olive oil with the love and the art of their ancestors. |
|
The producers of
Excelsum Extra Virgin Olive Oil live in a tiny medieval
village of Umbria surrounded by their olive trees. Producing olive
oil is an art that is inherited in the families like the love for
their land. Going back centuries parents, grandparents, great
grandparents and so on have lived there and produce high quality
olive oil. |

The
way of taking care of olive trees and the "art" of
producing olive oil have been passed on from one generation to the
next. |
|
This is the story of how the family legacy was passed
on to the present generation.
Wintertime:
“Do you know what is burning in the
fireplace?” asked our grandfather. My sister and I looked at each other
perplexed, thinking that for that night we were not going to have the
usual bedtime story, but a deeper speech, that we would remember forever.
“It is a branch of the olive tree” he continued. “We own a lot to
olive trees. Just think what they offer us: wood for winter, shade in
summer, oil for cooking and oil for light.
You must never forget that olive trees have
always been part of our family. It must also be the same for you, who are
the future of our family. I want you to always remember this. Do not
abandon the trees, because they tie you to the roots of your origin, and
because they will never betray you.” That night we promised our
grandfather to carry on this family tradition.
Today, twenty years later, we remember that
night and are proud to keep the promise made. We follow in the footsteps
of our ancestors, carrying into the future the responsibility to care for
the olive trees and reaping from the land the best fruits of this cultural
treasure that for several centuries has identified our family.
We share this treasure with you knowing that our
extra virgin olive oil exceeds the highest standards of the industry.
