Saint Bernadino AMICI, BL. BERNARDINO (14201503). Born at Fossa, Italy, he studied at nearby Aquila and law at Perugia, and joined the Franciscans there in 1445. He was ordained, began preaching, and soon had a reputation for his effective preaching. In 1464, he resolved the quarrels of the monks of different nationalities of Dalmatia and Bosnia by uniting them into one province, refused the see of Aquila when it was offered to him, and died at St. Julian friary near Aquila. He wrote a biography of St. Bernardino of Siena and Chronicle of the Friars Minor of the Observance. His cult was approved in 1828. November 27.
